Technician (Boat Mechanic) is a highly skilled and experienced role
within our organization, responsible for leading and performing
advanced mechanical repair and maintenance on boats and marine
equipment. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the
reliability and optimal performance of our watercraft.
Responsibilities: Mechanical Repairs: Lead and perform advanced
mechanical repair work on various types of boats and marine
equipment, diagnosing and addressing complex issues. Diagnostic
Expertise: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to
identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems accurately, including
engines, propulsion systems, and electrical components. Parts
Replacement: Oversee and execute parts replacements, including
engines, transmissions, steering systems, and other major boat
components. Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement maintenance
plans for preventive and routine maintenance, ensuring boat
longevity and seaworthiness. Quality Control: Conduct rigorous
quality checks to ensure all repairs meet or exceed industry
standards and safety requirements for watercraft. Mentorship:
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior boat technicians, sharing
expertise and best practices in boat mechanical repair. Inventory
Management: Manage an inventory of spare parts, tools, and
equipment, and proactively order supplies as needed to support boat
repair and maintenance. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and
accurate records of all repair work, including parts used, labor
hours, and maintenance schedules. Safety Leadership: Lead by
example in adhering to safety protocols, ensuring a safe and
compliant work environment for boat maintenance. Customer
Interaction: Interact with boat owners, providing updates on repair
progress, explaining repair recommendations, and addressing
inquiries. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent
(Technical certification in advanced boat mechanical repair highly
preferred). Extensive experience in boat mechanical repair, with a
strong track record of tackling complex repair challenges in the
marine industry. Advanced knowledge of boat systems, including
engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and marine
accessories. Proficiency in using advanced diagnostic tools and
equipment specific to boat maintenance. Mastery of boat mechanical
repair techniques, demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship and
precision. Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to
diagnose and resolve intricate boat mechanical issues. Strong
communication skills and a customer-centric mindset, excelling in
customer interactions. Effective leadership and mentoring
abilities, with experience in guiding and developing junior boat
technicians. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
as part of a team. In-depth understanding of safety regulations and
a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment on boats.
